Farmhouse Renovation Design Of No.1 Building Of Vernacular Arts Hotel In Chenjiapu Village Songyang County

In 2016,the Song Yang county government vigorously promoted the revival of rural culture and the preservation of ancient villages.Through cooperation with the Sustainable Rural Studio esatblished in School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Nanjing University,the government started two village renovation plans,Librairie Avant-Garde and YunXi vernacular arts hotel in ChenJiaPu.The renovation projects is designed to cover four plots of villages,including an old village cultural Center,and two residential renovation,as well as the vernaculr art hotel renovated from the old parking garage.In the projects,the renovation of one rammed earth farmhouse is the main result of my graduation design,which will belong to the rural practice project of the Sustainable Rural Studio.This project is located in ChenJiaPu Village,SiDu Township,SongYang County,Lishui City,Zhejiang Province.In the village,The landscape of traditional rural settlements in Southwest Zhejiang Mountainous Area is well preserved.In order to adapt to the terrain,local villagers formed the way of cliff-living.Hundreds of houses made of dirt,wood,green brick and stone,use the terrain and rock structure to downward extend along the cliff,from the mid-levels to the foot of the mountain,a drop of up to more than 200 meters.To renovate a rammed earth farming house and retain the original rammed earth wall,the first floor of the building is brick masonry structure and the second floor is the local traditional wooden structure covered by brick masonry walls.Local small tile cover the roof.Through the thermal insulation structure,my design will enhance the residential quality of indoor living environment and meet the functional requirements of hotel accommodation.Finally,the renovation of the vernacular arts hotel can integrate the traditional landscape of local settlements,respect the village's natural environment and humane landscape.
