In recent years,with the development of economy,and the proposed new bridges in China are mostly high pier and long-span bridges,among these bridges,reinforced concrete(RC)rectangular hollow pier is commonly used,so the study on the seismic performance of RC rectangular hollow bridge pier is more and more urgent.The energy analysis method is a kind of method that can better reflect the whole process of the structure under strong earthquake and its elastoplastic properties can easily be observed.Ultimately,the energy analysis method can reveal the basic characteristics of the earthquake effect on the structure,which is a process of energy transfer,transformation and consumption.By using energy analysis method,the effects of different parameters on the seismic performance of bridge piers is studied,which has great significance for the seismic design of bridge structures.In order to study the seismic performance of RC rectangular hollow pier,numerical simulation method were adopted to analysis different characteristic parameters of the the piers based on the shaking table test of Hollow Piers.Based on energy analysis method,the influence of different parameters on the seismic performance of rectangular hollow piers were analyzed too.The main work is as follows:(1)Establish reasonable RC rectangular hollow pier numerical model according to different characteristic parameters(ie.shear span ratio,axial compression ratio,longitudinal reinforcement ratio and spiral reinforcement ratio).By using the control variable method,different models with different characteristic parameters were established.Select appropriate constitutive model of material,section division method and element,and try to make the numerical analyze results closer to the actual engineering situation.(2)Select appropriate earthquake records,then the above models are studied by nonlinear dynamic analysis,and the results are compared with the existing results to verify the correctness of the numerical model.(3)By the nonlinear analysis,the seismic response of the pier model under various is obtained,and the influence of different characteristic parameters(shear span ratio,axial compression ratio,reinforcement ratio and stirrup ratio)on the seismic response of the bridge pier is analyzed.(4)By using energy analysis method the influence of shear span ratio,axial compression ratio,longitudinal reinforcement ratio and spiral reinforcement ratio on the seismic performance of RC rectangular hollow bridge piers was analyzed.The results indicate that the seismic performance of reinforced concrete rectangular hollow piers are impressive.The energy analysis method can better analysis of hollow pier energy analysis method can better be used to analyze the seismic behavior of these piers,and the results shows different characteristic parameters make different influence on the seismic performance of these piers.The results of this paper can be used as a reference for the seismic design of bridges.
