For the lack of research on the processes of concrete pouring in the arch rib of concrete filled steel tubular arch bridges at this stage, the finite element numerical simulation analysis of different processes of concrete pouring in the arch rib was carried on which was based on a concrete filled steel tubular arch bridge.(1)Reviewed and summarized different calculation pattern of concrete filled steel tube with dumbbell shaped section, especially theory of hooping mechanism of CFST members. The computation on a dumbbell shaped section showed that the section rigidity results by the hooping mechanism theoretic formulas were approximately equal to the result gained by theoretic formulas without hooping mechanism.Therefore,double-element method was considered to be workable in the process of construction of the bridge.(2)Difference in the processes of concrete pouring in the arch rib of CFST would impact on the distribution of internal forces of arch rib.In order to describe the difference,a concept "concrete share" was put forward which means the ratio between the internal force in concrete and the total internal force.(3)Comparison in internal force and displacement of arch rib between 3 kinds of pouring conditions of concrete and theoretical calculations was carried out and a series of beneficial conclusions were put forward.(4)The factor of bridge span was analyzed to see whether the conclusions in point(3)apply to all span and they turn out to be right.(5)The result of structural simulation for entire bridge showed that the ’concrete share’at the completion state had nothing to do with the processes of concrete pouring in the arch rib.
