Research Of Rural Landscape Management Based On Landscape Character Assessment

After more than thirty years development of the Reform and opening up,China has made remarkable achievements in social and economic development.But the development,at the expense of the environment,has caused many environmental problems,and serious damage to the rural landscape.In recent years,the construction of Beautiful Countryside has provided a good opportunity for the enhancement of rural landscape ecology environment and rural development,but there are also some problems in the construction,such as standardization,homogeneity and loss of regional landscape features.Regional characteristics is the basis of the local identity,and the inevitable requirement of the Landscape ecological diversity and cultural diversity.Thus the research of protection,enhancement and management of regional landscape features has very important significance in ecological,cultural and economic.From this point,this paper draws lessons from the experience of foreign landscape management,taking the Changyucheng Village as an example,using the method of landscape character assessment to study the whole rural landscape of it.The village is divided into different landscape description unites,and it put forward the landscape management guidelines for each area and measures of landscape classification management,and built countryside Landscape management system based on Landscape character assessment,hoping to provide reference and experience for landscape management for the vast rural areas.The paper is divided into six parts:The first part:Introduction,which introduces the research background,purpose,significance and methods of the research.The second part:literature reviews,the research and practice of landscape management in China are introduced,and points out problems faced by rural landscape management in our country,then summarizes and evaluates the methods of rural landscape management in Japan,Britain and the United states,and put forward the referential significance for the rural landscape management in China.The third part:Introduction of the formation mechanism of traditional rural landscape in China and problems faced,deficiency of our landscape assessment method and advantage of foreign’ method,and definition of the important concepts.The fourth part:Taking Changyucheng Village as a case to implement the landscape character assessment.Firstly,through the analysis of the extraction of landscape elements,the identification of landscape features and the analysis of the historical evolution of the landscape,the landscape description unit of the village is divided and detailed description and landscape feature recognition are provided for each of these parts.Then,using the significance,vulnerability,tolerance,resilience to evaluate the rural landscape of it,and make additional analysis.The fifth part:Analysing the trend of land use change and development pressure of landscape in Changyucheng Village,and identifies the threat of land use change to the regional landscape elements,Based on the result of landscape character assessment,then puts the landscape management guidelines for each landscape description unit and measures of landscape classification management,achieve positive guide and effective intervene of the change of landscape,tries to built countryside landscape management system based on Landscape character assessment,and creating outstanding rural landscape.The sixth part:Conclusion and Prospect.The applicability of landscape character assessment method in rural landscape management is summarized,and the relationship between rural landscape change and land use and economic development is discussed,and points out the deficiencies and limitations of the study,and prospects the future of rural landscape management.
