Research On Bedroom Appliance Design Based On User Experience

With the rapid development of economy and technology,people no longer just satisfy the usability of domestic appliances,but pay more attention to the feelings in the using process and hope the products could present diversified.However,traditional household appliances haven't been able to bring multi-layered experience beyond function.In addition,great sleep quality and joyful mood are dependent on personalized bedroom appliances and pleasurable life environment.From the perspective of user,this thesis applies the theory of user experience to the research on bedroom appliances design with the combination of theoretical and practical research.At first,analysis and induction of the related theory of user experience by literature research method,and then gain the user requirements for providing guidance and advice to the next stage,which is aimed at put forward a set of universal design principles and strategies with scientific evidence.Getting to know the common needs and some existent shortcomings as well as exploring the develop tendency of bedroom appliances through user experience research.Furthermore,taking an example of air purifier through the qualitative and quantitative research methods,there are numerous causes which influence user experience except good usability in function.Transforming user needs to design elements and then analysing design elements combined with practical cases in accordance with the three levels of user experience:sensuous level,behavioral level,and emotional level respectively.At last,proposing principles of user experience of bedroom appliances:reducing the sense of crowding,creating comfortable and harmonious atmosphere,concerning about human-care,concerning about ecological design and green design,concerning about the realization of self-value.After that,coming up with corresponding strategies.Finally,the project of Yonghua filter is as an example combined with user needs and design principles as well as methods proposed before,aiming at improve user experience,which is in order to design a product of great user experience with the respect of user lifestyle.
