Power Management Unit plays an important role in the modern power supply system,it provides the key chip with appropriate voltage or current supply,and controls the efficiency of the whole system and the corresponding operating mode.Modern electronic products are developing towards the trend of high working frequency and fast load change,which requires the DC-DC converter’s load transient response is fast enough.In this paper,a fast transient response BUCK converter with peak current control mode is designed.This BUCK converter uses adaptive pole-zero position compensation technology to speed up the response time;pole-zero tracking compensation technology is used to reduce recovery/setup time;Slope compensation is performed using a square characteristic curve to minimize the effect of ramp compensation on the load transient response.This paper first introduces the research status and development trend of switching power supply chip and leads to the significance of this topic;Then,analysis the main factors that influence the transient response of BUCK;thirdly,according to the above factors,put forward the corresponding solutions and measures.Finally,the effect of the method to improve the transient response of the design is compared and verified.Simulation results show,The function and parameters of BUCK converter designed in this paper meet the design requirements.The adaptive pole-zero position compensation,pole-zero tracking compensation and square slope compensation circuit play a good effect,and the load transient response than traditional BUCK converter much faster.
