With the acceleration of industrialization, the problem of harmonic pollution has become more and more prominent.Active power filter(APF)is a kind of power electronic equipment which can compensate harmonic and reactive power in real time.In this paper, the compensation performance of active power filter is studied. The basic principle of active power filter is introduced.Based on the simple single-phase structure, the current tracking of APF is analyzed qualitatively, and then extended to the three-phase structure to obtain the duty cycle expression which can track the current. The circuit parameter design of APF is introduced, including the design of current loop LCL filter inductor and the design of voltage loop energy storage capacitor. This paper introduces a variety of harmonic extraction strategies, and proposes an improved single-phase harmonic detection algorithm. In this paper, the principle of harmonic amplification caused by APF as a controllable current source is introduced. The control system of APF is improved, which includes the embedded control of current loop. The effect of repetitive controller on the system and the design method of repetitive controller are introduced. The parameter design of the outer loop is carried out in order to get better dynamic performance. In Matlab/Simulink,a three-phase three wire APF system is built, and the simulation results are carried out to verify the correctness of the above method. Then it introduces the realization method of the specific experiment, including the hardware circuit design method, the DSP programming method and so on.Finally, the experimental platform is built in the laboratory, and the experimental results are given to verify the correctness of the proposed method.
