Switched reluctance motor is originated in the 19th century,and it has been applied in aerospace,electrics vehicle,textile,coke and other fields currently.Switched reluctance motor has the advantage of simple structure,excellent controllability,good fault-tolerant and so on.For those reason,it has caused wide attention and has a broad prospects in power generation field.In Another aspect,the energy crisis of the world is becoming more and more serious.It will be a more realistic choice to improve the efficiency of equipment when developing new energy.And it has the great significant to improve the efficiency of switched reluctance generator(SRG)for the requirement from wind power generating system,water power generating system and other kinds of generating system.This thesis focuses on the design method for improving efficiency of switched reluctance generator and has a detailed discussion.It also contains the details of corresponding theories and simulation.Firstly,switched reluctance motor working theory and generating theory are explained,especially describing the theoretical basis about switched reluctance motor working as a generator.The mathematical model also has been made.In order to improving the efficiency of switched reluctance generator,the existing switched reluctance motor is analyzed by software ANSYS using finite element method and the inductance data is obtained at the same time.Then six kinds of inductance curves have been designed based on the inductance data of existing switched reluctance motor.And a nonlinear simulation model using look-up table is made to calculate the efficiency of SRG with different inductance curve.The inductance curve which can make the SRG having the highest efficiency is identified as the target inductance curve of optimization design.After that the relationship between inductance changing and motor structure changing is obtained,and the structure of SRG is modified to achieve the chosen inductance curve.At last the redesigned SRG is analyzed by finite element method and the efficiency is calculated again to verify the feasibility of optimizing design method.This method is verified to be effective for improving the efficiency of switched reluctance generator.It also provides the reference about switched reluctance motor design.
