Air filter is to ensure that the engine can be the normal operation of the necessary equipment in a multi-impurity environment. In the heavy vehicle work, its working environment leaves requirements of the air filter more severe challenges. Therefore,in order to study how to improve the performance of air filter, this paper makes adding additional scavenged air filter as the research object, and study the comprehensive performance of heavy vehicles air filter.Firstly, the geometric model of the air filter is established by computer simulation, and the FLUENT is used to simulate the filter resistance distribution,in order to study the influence of the Scavenged System on the air intake resistance of the air filter.Secondly,we designed a test system of air filter performance, and make it work by a program which built by LabVIEW platform. In the actual field experiment, according to the relevant national standards for testing, the paper introduces the influence of the additional scavenged system mechanism on the air inlet resistance, filtration efficiency and ash storage life of the air filter. The final test results show that the rational design of the scavenged system not only reduces the original resistance of the air filter, but also improves the filtration efficiency and service life of the air filter. In the past,heavy-duty trucks used manual dumping or self-vibration to remove the dust inside the dust collection chamber, and added scavenged system to study its structure and parameters, which can more effectively realize the vehicle cleaning process. Therefore, the research in this paper has positive significance for the heavy-duty vehicles.
