Community park is a natural life zone for rest provided for community residents with certain use functions. As the green infrastructure of a community, it is not only the important rest zone for community residents and also the place where residents cultural transmission. However, the design and various facilities in current community parks cannot meet the demands of all the residents, because part of the residents are extremities disabled who cannot normally use the facilities in the community parks. The extremities disable have the equal right with other residents in using community parks. They pay attention to social attitude to them, and the environment the society provides and builds for them can best reflect social attitude to them.Starting from the practical demands of the extremities disabled, the thesis has conducted a thorough and systematic theoretical research and investigation on the barrier-free design of community parks. Through the theoretical research on human engineering, environment psychology and environment ethology, conclusions are drawn about the outdoor movement dimension, environment behavior characteristics and environment mental characteristics, in order to provide some theoretical basis for the barrier-free design of community parks. Then, the importance evaluations are conducted on the desired barrier-free types in community parks, barrier-free facilities, the desired movement type and the spatial elements affecting park movement, by way of field study, questionnaire survey, data process and practice research, so as to understand their demands for urban cities and provide some reference and basis for the elements taken into consideration in community park design. Next, the thesis explores community barrier-free design and the creation principle and methods for barrier-free movement space. The thesis is composed of five chapters to discuss how to conduct community park barrier-free design for the extremities disabled. In the first chapter, definitions related to community park barrier-free design are talked, the current research status and the problems are analyzed; the second chapter has introduced the research contents, survey locations and methods, and extracted the use demands of the surveyed crowds for urban parks; through theoretical research, the movement dimension, psychological and behavior characteristics of the extremities disabled are discussed in the third chapter; in the fourth chapter, based on theoretical analysis and practice projects, community park barrier-free design has been specifically expounded; the fifth chapter is the part of conclusion and also points out the research prospect in this regard.
