Steel story-adding structure can increase the housing area in a short period of time,solving the problem of housing shortage.It can get a quick return from a low cost.But with low stiffness in upper part and high stiffness in lower part,the hybrid structure could be vertically irregular.The knee brace is applied to steel story-adding structure in order to solve the problem of vertical irregularity and improve the seismic performance greatly.Compared with the traditional concentrically brace and eccentrically brace,the knee brace can protect the frame beam with good stiffness and ductility.Connected by bolts between the knee brace and the structure,it is easy to repair and replace after the earthquake.Analyzing different knee brace to steel story-adding structure on the seismic performance,the monoclinic knee brace can significantly improve the seismic performance of steel story-adding structure and improve the vertical stiffness irregular phenomenon of the structure at a lower cost than the V-knee brace.Different plane layout and vertical layout of the knee brace also have an effect on the seismic performance of the structure.With the increase in quantity of the knee brace,the seismic performance of the structure could be improved.The knee brace should be uniformed in the layout in order to achieve ideal seismic performance.To analyze the seismic performance of the steel story-adding structure which is filled with knee braces and influenced by different parameters,the author chooses three schemes from each parameter of the length,angle layout and the section rigidity of the knee brace and gets the general rule: the seismic performance of the structure will be improved with the angle between the knee brace and the column increasing,the length of the knee brace shortening and the section rigidity of the knee brace increasing,.Through the seismic analysis of steel story-adding structure,we can get guidance and reference,which will help us design and achieve the ideal seismic effect.
