In order to improve the performance of yacht engine at low load.This paper takes TBD234V6 engine as the research object.Using the gt-power software,the simulation model of engine working process is established for the study of Turbocharger's selection and matching performance.This paper mainly designs and develops the sequential turbocharging system for a Yacht Engine.And the preliminary experimental study of sequential turbocharging system is carried out.First of all,the simulation model of engine working process is established according to the parameters of the engine,and the model is validated by the test data of the original machine.The results show that the simulation model calculation error is in the allowable range.Then,The calculation and study of matching performance of the turbocharger with simulation model show that the selected turbochargers match pretty well with yacht engine.Secondly,Completed the design and construction of the standard test-bed for the general turbocharged yacht engine.And on the basis of the general turbocharged yacht engine test-bed,the sequential turbocharging yacht engine is reformed successively.The intake,exhaust pipe and control system of Yacht Engine with sequential turbocharging system are designed.And Completed the design and construction of the yacht engine sequential turbocharging system.At last,Steady state performance tests of propulsion and load characteristics of yacht engine adopting sequential turbocharging system are made.Through the analysis of experiment results,Steady switching principles are established depending on optimization of fuel economy.The contrast with the experimental results of original engine shows that when yacht engine runs under standard characteristics,sequential turbocharging can improve economical efficiency of yacht engine at low load greatly,and and exhaust temperature before turbine is significant lower than that of original engine.At the same time,the emission performance of the engine is improved obviously.Through comparison with the original engine load characteristics at rated speed test results show that the performance of the engine with sequential turbocharging system is not changed compared with the original machine.
