With the economic development and urbanization progress,large commercial buildings are now playing more and more important role in the city life.In the matter of the modern life becoming increasingly rich and colorful,people's need toward commercial buildings have transferred from pure material to life relaxtion,for which obviously the traditional department stores are not able to meet the upper lever needs.Thus the consumer's desire of public space within commercial buildings have detected by keen designers and become the focus with commercial design.With economic development as the research background,the paper covers comprehensive analysis and study on design strategy of internal public space of larger commercial building.The paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 defines the research background and objects,based on relevant domestically and international theories achievements.Chapter 2 briefly introduces the development of commercial building and analyzes the influential factors on the design of internal public space of commercial buildings.Chapter 3 gives a comprehensive elaboration on the composition and characteristics of public space,and summarize with design principles.Chapter 4 thoroughly analyzes the public space design in a visual and intuitionistic way from space design organization and interface design aspect,via combination with achievements from a number of excellent commercial projects.Meanwhile,the chapter also explores atmosphere establishment contributed mostly by several aspects like material quality,color,lighting,and label.In chapter 5,on the basis of abovementioned analyzed views about public space of commercial building,the paper further elaborates the research study in conjunction with practical design cases and effects.The last chapter provide summary and forward-looking assumptions from new trends and features on public space of commercial building.
