Research Of ENC Data Conversion From S-57 To S-101 Standard

The twenty-first century is the era of information technology,the rapid development and popularization of information technology is affecting all walks of life.In the field of navigation,the Electronic Navigation Chart technology combines the advantages of computer technology and traditional paper Navigation Chart,which is playing an important role both in military and civil aspects.Nowdays countries in the world mainly adopt the S-57 standard as the official digital chart data exchange standard.The S-57 standard means "IHO Transfer Standard for Digital Hydrographic Data".The final version 3.1 edition was issued in November 2000.In order to adapt to the development trend of the future,in 2010,IHO formally issued "S-100 Universal Hydrographic Data Model" version 1.0.0,under which the next generation of electronic chart standard was named for S-101.The S-100 will exist with the current digital hydrographic data transfer standard S-57 at the same time in a short period of time,and will replace the S-57 standard eventually.In order to meet the requirements of the future development trend of the electronic chart,this thesis studied the method of transformation from S-57 standard ENC data to S-101 standard ENC data.According to the S-57 and S-101 electronic chart data standard,the thesis analyzed the two data sets content and format respectively,established field mapping relationship before and after conversion.Designed electronic chart navigation conversion system.Firstly,unpacked and preprocessed the encapsulated S-57 data.Then,according to the field mapping relationship,translated the S-57 data into S-101 data.Next,encapsulated the converted data into the S-101 standard chart file format.Finally,tested the result of the conversion file and verified the correctness of the conversion.The S-101 standared ENC data conversion system is based on the Windows 7 operating system and the Qt software development platform,using C/C++ program design language,including human-computer interaction interface block,S-57 electronic chart data analysis block,S-101 electronic chart data conversion block,S-101 electronic chart file packaging module block,basically achieved the conversion from S-57 to S-101 standard chart data.Studies have shown that the conversion not only saved the costs of developing chart data,but also played an important role in promoting the application of S-101 standard.
