The Application Of Hypoplastic Model To Deformation Analysis Of Concrete Face Rockfill Dam

Based on the comparison of several hypoplastic constitutive models that the article choose the so called Wang-Wu hypoplastic model which is an updated version of Wu-Bauer hypoplastic model applying to the stress and deformation analysis on the concrete face rockfill dam(CFRD).The model inherited the characteristics of Wu-Bauer model for its simpleness,at the same time,the model has a better performance on capturing the engineering characteristics of rockfill.It's worth mentioning that it seem that the model got better results when simulated the conventional triaxial compression test compared to Duncan E-B model.So,we believed that Wang-Wu model is a practical model for CFRD.Following the tradition,the main work of the article was divided into two sections,calibration and application of the model.Now,they were summarized into the following 3 points.1.Based on the research on several simulations of the tests,a new idea was proposed to appoach the parameters of the model.From this way,it will be possible to use just one group of parameters to describe the same kinds of material on different status.2.Note that the tangential tensors of hypoplastic models not only depend on stress but also depend on the direction of strain rates.A practical way was proposed for FEM.It comes from the improvement of the so called mid point incremental method.3.An Fortran subroutine about Wang-Wu model was add to CFRD.f.CFRD.f is a program about finite element implementation on CFRD.At last the numerical study was carried out on a practial CFRD.The calculation results were compared parallelly with the Duncan E-B model's.Special note,two models reflect the similar law of the stress and deformation on CFRD,but the slope-stress on concrete face calculated by Wang-Wu model is reasonable,While Duncan E-Bmodel not.Finally,On the basis of the summary,some suggestions about hypoplasticity model were proposed.
