Nowadays,the solid state semiconductor lighting has gradually replaced the traditional lighting that based incandescent light bulb and halogen lamp.LED depends on its high light efficiency,small volume,long life,impact resistance,controlled light,maintenance and replacement are relatively simple,more and more cheap,and many other advantages have been widely used in various industries.More and more lighting enterprises are able to production and assembly capacity.It can predict that LED will play an important and indelible role in the future development of intelligent lighting and smart city.However,it's an urgent problem to design a kind of lighting products that can up to user's light experience.Free-form surface can achieve complex lighting requirements and precise control of light based on the high degree of freedom.The article mainly according to two typical cases of project-light lamp and wash wall lamp,in order to research significant role and design method in the illumination system.Specific research contents are as follows.First,study the free surface design methods,validates the result and summary.And then points out the advantages and disadvantages in the process of design,puts forward a new design method –section method.The project-light lamp lens can verify the correctness and effectiveness of the method.According to the conservation of energy to establish the mapping function between LED light source and the target surface,and then get a new non-axisymmetric lens of wash wall lamp that can achieve uniform illumination and improve light efficiency.After repeated opened mod and repaired mold,we get good optic results such as non-deflection,high illuminance,high uniform illumination and high wash wall distance.It provides a technology guides and design ideas for the target of improve the experience of lighting,and practical example for the application of the nonimaging optics.
