Exploration On The Identification Of Urban Entrance Architecture

In the context of rapid urbanization,the fast-expanding urban space has given rise to the increasingly similar urban characteristics.Meanwhile,the modular development of urban space has led to the loss of urban characteristics as well as various phenomena of "the same image of cities" The identification of the urban entrance architecture as a door to city has a direct influence on city’s first impression.Along with the universal development of modern railways,railway station evolves into one of the most important forms of urban entrance architecture,which not only provides urban public services,but also epitomizes urban image.Thus,railway station plays a tremendous role in communicating urban culture and building urban image.Qingdao Railway Station built in 1899 was designed by two German architects Willer and Gedelchi based on the style of the Renaissance architecture in Germany.As one of the architectural landscape designs with Qingdao characteristics,Qingdao Railway Station is only 300 meters away from coastline.The development and changes of Qingdao Railway Station have developed into the typical case for the study on the identification of urban entrance architecture,and the exploration on its urban identification is of vital significance to designing other urban entrance architecture.This topic studies the identification of urban entrance architecture according to the analysis method of architectural pattern language and the design concept of urban space.In this paper,the influencing factors and design requirements about the identification of urban entrance space are explored through typical domestic and foreign cases about the urban entrance architecture.Taking for example Qingdao Railway Station and surrounding space,this paper extracts and analyzes the structural elements of the railway station and its surrounding space from two aspects,including manifestation modes of the identification of urban entrance architecture and the image of urban entrance space.The analytical methods obtained can raise the accuracy of manifesting the identification of urban entrance architecture to improve the current situation of the similar urban entrance designs.
