In order to adapt to the development of highway under the new situation,it is necessary to carry out highway pavement detection in a non-destructive,high-efficient and quick way,with the development of highway construction in our country,the requirement of highway construction and detection is getting higher and higher. As a kind of highway pavement detection method, radar as a means of detecting high-frequency electromagnetic waves, receiving and analyzing the signals can understand the road surface defects,so as to provide a comprehensive evaluation of road engineering and maintenance recommendations. In order to make a better application of radar,the following works are carried out in this paper:(1) Comparing with the commonly used nondestructive detection methods,the composition,working mechanism and characteristics of the radar are summarized,and the spectral pattern of the radar in the different electromagnetic medium is analyzed.(2) On the basis of thorough investigation of domestic and international road radar in pavement base detection,this paper analyzes the application of path radar in pavement base evaluation,common problem analysis and so on. Contrast,accurate calibration of the pavement layer reflection reflected by the interface position. The paper analyzes the factors that affect the radar,puts forward the standard of the abnormal image interpretation,and improves the application of the radar.(3) Based on the actual engineering, the inspection of the thickness, crack,deflection and subsidence of pavement base were carried out respectively. The working method and working flow of the radar were discussed, including parameter setting and result analysis. Corresponding characteristics of the radar signal are proposed. Combined with the detection results,the measures are proposed respectively.
