Automated Manual Transmission(AMT) is an important representative product in the study of vehicle transmission. It coupled with the clutch booster cylinder, shift gear actuator and electronic control devices on the basis of traditional manual transmission, in which automatic shift could be achieved electronically by the main controller. It not only retains the advantages of manual transmission, such as simple structure, cheap cost, high efficiency, long lifetime and so on. But also it is a new product with advantages of low fuel consumption, high driving safety, shifting conveniently which traditional manual transmission doesn't have. With the development of science and technology and reduction of energy, AMT has become a popular product in the research of vehicle transmission and has fatal research significance, which is extremely suited to China's national condition.This paper firstly studied the structure of the whole AMT test-bed, and specifically introduced the characteristics and working principle of the main controller, power supply, clutch and many sensors. In order to achieve the target of automatic shift electronically, the overall framework of hardware system has been designed. It contains six modules around the core chip XC2287, such as the minimum system of XC2287, the sensor signal processing module, the solenoid valve driving module, communication module, power module and the reserved module. Software program is designed to be three parts according to the obove module:Sensor signal processing program can not only collect signals, but also can filter out noise. Actuator control program includes the separation and joint of the clutch and controlling of shift actuator. A serial port communication program services to the communication between MCU and other equipment. CAN communication program services to the communication between MCU and PC. Then introducing the software environment and the development process in the study of this hardware system, as well as some matters need to pay attention to when drawing the PCB by Altium Designer. Finally, in order to verify the reliability of hardware system, many different experiments have been done. The results proved that this system runs well.
