| A fast design algorithm for multi-rod height was created,and an automatic drafting algorithm of protection scope as well as integrated development software was developed to solve the problems associated with multiple lightning rods protection in large power plant substations,such as a long design cycle,an arbitrary rod height decision,and manual work involved in drafting.It was proposed in the first place to normalize the protection zone so that disorderly problems may be abstracted into problems describable in mathematical language,and the formula was then deduced for computing the height of dual rods.On this basis and having regard to the spatial distribution characteristics of triple rods,a method was devised for computing their height.In computing the height of multiple rods,this paper is innovative by proposing Delaunay triangulation to solve the combination problem of triple rods converted from multiple rods.A fast design algorithm of multiple rod heights was developed based on Delaunay triangulation and multi-rod spatial combination features,enabling the substitution of computer work for manual work in rod height computation and ensuring that the minimum rod height is attained with all the other conditions unchanged.Fully automatic drafting was achieved without manual interference in calculating and plotting multi-rod protection scope.It can get rid of the existing CAD manual operation,such as choosing point and direction,hence minimizing the drafting time of the designer.Using MATLAB command tic and toe measured the time 12 rods protection scope drafting is only 1.904455s.The main implementation process was as follows:The protection scope of dual rods was analyzed firstly,and the bi-rod protection scope was studied for its characteristics by controlling the protection height and the space between the rods.On the basis of these characteristics,special points were then selected that need to be calculated for determining the protection scope.A case of multiple rods needs to be firstly converted into a case of triple rods,that latter being subdivided into a trio of dual rods for subsequent calculation of special points.The drafting of protection scope is made possible by logic algorithm control over special points,ultimately achieving computerized automatic drafting.A package of aided software was developed afterwards on MATLAB platform,and the software was analyzed and calibrated for its various functions using the data of a typical substation.The software applies for the first time the idea of data detection to lightning rod protection design and changes the traditional thinking drafting before the judgment.Using a computer instead of the human eye to evaluate before drafting,thus it can pinpoint the problem and greatly shorten the protection design cycle.The designer only needs to enter the protection scheme into the software and the software then judges whether the scheme is able to provide a joint protection and whether the protection zone will receive a complete protection.The software gives design revision advices if the scheme is judged not adequate;otherwise,the software plots the protection scope automatically and produces the designer a visual effect of the scheme.The software is also capable of plotting quickly the protection scope as a function of any effective protection height thereby accomplishing 3D display of protection scope indirectly. |
