This study mainly discusses structural dynamics model updating based sensitivity analysis and the application of system hierarchical thought. The framework is presented in three parts: Firstly, the paper propose a model updating method based on hierarchical thought to the problems appeared frequently in complex structure model updating. By hierarchical model updating method we can disassemble the complex structure into many simple structures, and updating the models level by level.This method not only reduce the parameters, but also increase the test result.The second part discussed the simulation of bolted connection between each construction. The simulation of bolted connection in complex model must be either simple or accuracy.Thirdly, complex programming the Dynamics Modeling Software used the three mainly softwares, Nastran, Matlab and Labview. The software achieved the model updating function, dynamic characteristic analysing function and dynamic optimization designing function. It can reduced the complexity in model updating process,shorten the research cycle and increase the efficiency.For an example of helicopter test model, we modify the hierarchical model updating method, by means of Dynamics Modeling Software. Firstly, disassemble the model into three levels and four parts. Secondly, updating each of them. Then assemble the parts into subsystem model and update it again. Finally, assemble all of them into the whole model, verify the accuracy using mode information and response information.The result indicated that the hierarchical model updating method can greatly achieve the goal.
