The Research Of The Building Of Elderly Nursing Care In Chongqing

Elderly nursing care facility provides services such as daily life care、medical care、rehabilitation training and etcetera for complete or partial self-care disabled senior citizens. With the rapid development of aging population, the demand for elderly long-term care becomes very urgent. However, problems such as uneven level of construction、outdated facility condition, shortage of standard constructive instructions for new facility’s functional configuration still exist nowadays in our elderly care facilities. This article conducts investigation and research for our country’s elderly nursing care facilities based on these problems.First, it investigates elderly care facilities in developed countries, such as United States and Japan. By using documents and design cases as basic materials, this article analyzes the facility’s development history, characteristics of different types and features of functional space configuration. It also summarizes the general development tendency of elderly care facilities in developed countries.Second, it conducts investigation on the usage of space in elderly care facilities. On one hand, through the general investigation in Chongqing, the service management situation of elderly care facilities、typical configuration and usage of space have been known. On the other hand, it conducts a survey for senior citizens and employees in elderly care facilities and records their satisfaction degree for elderly nursing care buildings.Third, according to the situation of on-site investigation 、 characteristics of pathological and psychological needs of disability senior citizens and the condition of our country’s economic development, it presents the construction design basis for elderly nursing care facility buildings.Finally, according to the design basis mentioned above, it conducts further investigations for elderly nursing care facility’s general layout、functional arrangement、service industry in order to give constructive design points and principles.
