With the development of science and technology, the anti-theft system has progressed from the early mechanical system to the current system based on GPRS/GPS. However, this car anti-theft system is only designed for the real-time positioning of the car, without resolving the problem of car scratch and anti-collision. The vehicle anti-theft systems based on GPRS/GPS have some disadvantage such as single function, slow transmission rate and inefficient alarm. A vehicle anti-theft system based on ARM and 3G network is designed and achieved in this paper. The system combines micro controller, sensor technology, image acquisition technology with 3G wireless network technology, so that the car can be monitored of real-time and remote by the owner of the car through the Android smart phone. It uses ARM11 processor,USB camera, a buzzer, a sensor module, 3G wireless network card, PC machine and Android smart phone as the hardware platform. While the software platform is based on the Linux operating system, windows and Android operating system. The functions, achieves the buzzer alarm, image acquisition through camera, image transmission over wireless network and image display on Android Mobile phone client, can be implemented in the anti-theft system.Android phone is used to control buzzer alarm according to the image information. Thus the car can be remotely monitored in real-time.The advantage of this system is the 3G wireless network instead of traditional GSM/GPRS network. This system can meet the demands of real-time monitoring and security during vehicle parked, which can help to insure the accident vehicle and perpetrators when vehicle was scratched and collided. It has a strong practical value and wide application prospect.
