In cold area as well as hillside area, the number of corruption casess of transmission line system due to too much ice-accreting or ice-shedding is countless.Especially ice shedding from conductors may give rise to arc-over as well as damages of insulators and tower. It needs too much money to build a trul transmission line system, therefor, many people study the problem of ice-shedding on conductors by using Numerical method. This paper studies the ice-shedding of transmission line system in hillside area. The static configurations of transmission lines is built by using matlab. Then the finite element model of transmission line system can be built by using ANSYS.The BEAM188 element is built to simulate tower and insutators. The BEAM4 element is built to simulate conductors in static analysis,however,LINK10 element would be built to replace it in transient anslysis.Considering different position of ice-shedding,or whether there is wind as well as whether the ice-accreting is even, this paper studies the motion of transmission lin system in hillside areas by control variate method. Also, this paper studies the changes of structural configuration of transmission line system during it’s moment. Analysis indicates that iceshedding of conductor will influences the other lines, especially for adjacent ones. Horizontal wind load may bring about lager displacement of node. Also the ice thickness of ice-shedding will influence the displacement of other conductors. The maximum stress and the minmun stress may exist in the same part of tower at a certain moment. This paper has got some laws about ice-shedding problem. On the basis of this study,we may try to building a wind field to replace wind laod. Also we can creat more truly ice element to simulate the ice-shedding model, but not simply change its density.
