Turntable is essential steering equipment of rail vehicles in factories and enterprises. To transport high center of gravity or flammable and dangerous goods, It is necessary to design a turntable with more secure. The use of slewing bearing in turntable can achieve the overall design of the turntable and avoid further dumping of products after tipping trend. Select the slewing bearing and design the structural according to the rigidity contribute to strictly control the overall stiffness of the turntable and improve the safety performance.This paper conducted the turntable load analysis, and carried out a preliminary selection of slewing bearing based on strength; carried out a further selection based on the stiffness; designed the main carousel structure based on stiffness, completed the overall design of the turntable, formed the load-deformation curve and checked the static strength of the transmission. Details are summarized as follows:Firstly, discussed the key issues of the design, analysis loads of the turntable in the loading and rotated process, give a preliminary selection of slewing bearing. when the front wheel of the flatbed get into the turntable, slewing bearing bear the maximum load. Initially select four-point contact ball slewing bearing with external gear to achieve the rotation of turntable.Secondly, carry out a final selection of slewing bearing based on the stiffness. analysis of the load in the process of loading and rotation, according to single-row four point contact slewing bear the load deformation theory to calculate the theoretical maximum amount of deformation of slewing ring turntable working conditions, and checking with the Finite Element Method. Discuss the selection results and give the preferred standard of the basic parameters in turntable.Finally, design a turntable with slewing bearing according to the analysis. Draw the turntable overturning moment-the maximum deformation at the same axial force and the axial force- the maximum deformation at the same force arm. Analysis the surface stress of gears and the relationship between partial load and the maximum surface contact stress and verify gear modification can reduce surface contact stress.
