Energy and environmental problems of the world and increasingly advancement of automobile technology make the new energy vehicles earn widespread respect among the governments, relative enterprises and scholars. And all of them are full of confidence in the future of new energy vehicles. Among the varies kinds of new energy vehicles, electric vehicles(EVs) are the most conspicuous and popular one. At the present stage, contact charging is universal applied to EVs. But this method has many invincible shortcomings, such as the long charging time, the circumscribed charging environment, the safety and the complex operations of contact charging, charging units inevitable frayed. On the other hand, the current vehicles' battery is large and heavy, expensive, short mileage. Worse, the abandoned batteries will bring some new pollutions to the world. These hinder the development and promotion of EVs. Based on the inductive coupled power transfer(ICPT), which the power can wirelessly transfer from grid to electronic devices, the EVs can dispense the limitations of traditional charging pattern and batteries. In addition, the moving EVs can also get charged by the ICPT tech. The ICPT tech has deep influence on the development of EVs.The magnetic coupler is the key component of an ICPT system. According to the different states of the wirelessly charging EVs, the EVs' ICPT system can be divided into the power wireless supplying and the power wireless charging. And according to the different powered methods of magnetic coupling coils, there are two ways of rails, concentrated powered mode and rails segmented powered mode. With the method of rails segmented powered, the power and the coupling degree of ICPT-based EVs will sharply decrease when coils switching or the ICPT-based EVs park across the two power supply coils. As the results, the EVs' normal work will be affected.Aiming at solving the above problems, this article studies on the segmental power supply coils, which are applied to the ICPT-based EVs under the rails segmented powered mode, and its parameters design. And the paper proposed an embeddable power supply rail coil(Em-type rail) and its parameter design method. The Em-type rail can do well in easing the mentioned problems which exist in the ICPT-based EVs power supply coils changing. Based on the Ansoft Maxwell and relative experimental platform, some verifiable works had been done in the rest of the paper. And the results display that the Em-type and its parameters design is right and valid.
