Belt conveyor is a large class of stationary or transport type lifting equipments. It plays an indispensable role in the production of various kinds of modern industrial and mining enterprises. It can transport a piece of material or bulk material to a place where there is a need, which can be in accordance with the requirements established of the industrial production process and cooperate with the whole production process.The belt conveyor has the following advantages: 1.It can transport the material in the same direction constantly and load without stopping the machine, which can transport at a high speed. Thus its productivity is high; 2. It consumed power changed little in the process of the work, because it runs steadily and feeds evenly; 3. In the process of transportation, the difference between the maximum load and the average load is small generally.But at the same time, in the process of using, especially in the key parts such as pulley, roller and conveyer belt, where always have a series of failures. For example, rubber coating wearing and cracking of pulley, cylinder grinding and rotation jammed of roller, longitudinal tearing and deviation of conveyor belt. In terms of safety production of coal mine, once the equipment is breakdown, it not only can cause direct economic loss, and even lead to casualties.This paper takes the pulley, roller and conveyer belt of belt conveyor as the research object, using the related theories of fault tree analysis to analyze its reliability in qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, and then analyzes its life. At the same time with the aid of computer-aided software programs, we can get the usage of key components which we analyzed accurately and conveniently. In the process of analysis and research, I need to overcome related difficulties such as various forms of equipment failures, overlapping failure cause and complex calculation process, etc. Finally, putting forward reliability design ideas to the designers, and providing the conclusion of practical guiding significance to users like regular maintenance, timely maintenance, etc.
