For developing the PIV technology in high-speed flow, a PIV seeding technology was improved based on the experimental setup in Hypersonic Innovation Technique Laboratory(HITL) of SJTU. After a review of PIV technology and particle-seeding technology in many practical flows, developed thoughts and better experiences were summarized and analyzed in material selecting, particle seeding and seeding device setting. By recognizing some defects in exwasting technology of HITL, changes in seeding lines, seeding gases and nozzle were suggested, and a new particle-seeding system was finally built. Experiments were conducted to prove the amelioration of every changed part and the effectiveness of the combination. The PIV experiments were conducted at Ma=4.0 over typical models as sharp cones and wedges. At first, particle capabilities of following high-speed flows and light scatting properties were concluded. Secondly, improved PIV particle-seeding technology for high-speed flow was developed based on a former technology of HITL(SJTU). Then, a PIV method includes this newly developed particle-seeding technology was tested. At last, more directions to improve the seeding technology were proposed.
