In the major project of CAP1400 nuclear power plant in China, steel plate reinforced concrete structure have been applied to shield building and other structural modules, but the research on this kind of structure is still in the initial stage and lack of corresponding standard.aimed at this problem,the paper studied on the bending shear performance of steel plate reinforced concrete structure in nuclear power plant under out plant load by testing and theoretical analysis.the main work and contributions are described as follows:1. Six 1/5 scale models were tested to study the bending shear performance of steel plate reinforced concrete structure shear wall under out-plane load. This paper analyzed the effects of different axial-load,different steel plate thickness,different concrete strength and different structures on the cracking load,the load-carrying capacity,the ductility,energy dissipation capacity and the failure modes of the shear walls.The test results shows that the walls have the typical brittle failure,poor ductility,weak energy consumption and high ultimate load bearing capacity under out-plane load;axial pressure have a significant effect on the shear behavior of the wall,the appropriate increase of the axial pressure can effectively improve the the crack resistance of the wall and improve the ultimate load capacity of the wall to a certain degree.The effect of increasing the thickness of steel plate within the experimental range on the cracking load is not obvious, but it can effectively improve the ultimate bearing capacity of the wall;in the test range,the effect of concrete strength variation on the bending shear performance of steel plate reinforced concrete structure is not obvious, Increasing the strength of concrete can not effectively improve the crack resistance and stiffness of the wall, but it can be a little to improve the ultimate bearing capacity of the wall.2. Considered the influence of axial pressure,the formula for calculating the ultimate bending moment and cracking load of steel plate reinforced concrete structure shear walls under out-plane load were proposed,the results obtained from the calculation and the experiment are in good agreement.
