Recent years, with the rapid development of air transportation, the air traffic flow is beco ming bigger and bigger. The existing airspace resources cannot meet the demand of the growi ng air traffic flow. In order to improve airspace capacity and efficiency, civil aviation research ers keep looking for new methods. Air highway is a new airspace structure among them.Air highway system is a system which based on advanced techniques, such as new communications, navigation, surveillance. Air highway is an independent, one-way, with-out intersection, high-speed and convenient route which is provided for long-distance, high-p erformance aircrafts. In this thesis, three aspects of air highway are researched: the design of a ir highway ramp, the flow control of air highway ramp, the slot allocation problem of air high way ramp. The research can provide references for operation of the aerial highway system. Th e main work of the thesis is as follows:1. The research on the design of air highway ramp: Based on the preliminary planning of Chinese air highway network, the design of air highway ramp is completed. According to the experience of European air highway operation and the actual situation of Chinese current route network, the distance between adjacent ramps is chosen. Then considering the flights of surrounding airports which would utilize the highway and their geographical locations, the desired airports are selected with a constraint of 150 NM. Next, using the method of the weighted shortest path model and track angle constraints, ramp design is completed. Finally,the example simulations verify its feasibility.2. The research on flow control of air highway ramp: According to controller workload,the level of service of air highway is set, based on which, the maximum capacity of air highway could be obtained. Through calculating the difference between the maximum capacity of air highway and the actual flight number, the optimal flow rate could be determined. Then considering ramp arrival flights, ramp holding area capacity and traffic demand situation, the regulation rate of ramp is modified from the view of ATC decision-making process to obtain the final regulation flight flow rate model of air highway ramp. Simulation proves that this model could meet the need for air highway flow control.Finally, the example simulations verify its feasibility.3. The research on slot allocation problem of air highway ramp: According to the characteristics of air highway, the slot allocation model of air highway ramp is proposed. Next based on the flight delay cost function obtained from the analysis of holding cost of aircraft,the model for sequencing ramp aircraft based on the minimum delay cost of air highway is established and the solutions of the models are designed. Finally, the emulation is gave out and the example simulations verify its feasibility.
