The Research On The Assessment Of The Staff Processing Cargo Of Freight Forwards

Freight forwards by air as an important part connecting the shippers with operators, are the essential part in the process of the safe carriage. Based on the important role the staff processing cargo of freight forwards playing in the process of the safe carriage, some restrict items about the ability of the staff processing cargo of freight forwards are established in the rules. So the ability of the staff should include knowing dangerous goods and the safety awareness. As the lacking of the researches on the freight forwards and the effective tools in measuring the safety awareness of the staff processing cargo, a scale in order to measure the safety awareness was developed.On the basis of previous research and methods, combined with the analysis of the structure of safety awareness and characteristics of the subjects, an evaluation index system and a scale of the safety awareness of the staff processing cargo of freight forwards were developed. The index system contains 3 indicators(attitude concept, behavior concept and cognition concept) and 13 secondary indicators. Safety Awareness Assessment Scale consists of four components: background factors(8 items), attitude concept(24 items),behavior concept(10 items) and cognition concept(17 items).There are 200 subjects of this anonymous questionnaire survey. The scale is revised by the test of items significance, correlation testing,scale reliability and validity testing. Exploratory factor analysis is used to examine the” construe tvalidity” of scale and gets the objective weights of indicators.
