In bad weather conditions, ILS can provide security for the aircraft in the approach and landing. It works properly or not directly affects flight safety. Therefore in the process of manufacture and maintenance, the verification and testing of airborne ILS equipment is essential.Starting from the underlying principle of ILS, the paper analyze the localizer,glideslope, marker beacon and the system performance requirement of China civil aviation industry standard in detail, then get the key indicators of precision measurement technology. According to these indicators, a testing signal simulation model which meets the requirement of ILS CAT III is set up, and we designed and implemented the baseband signal generator circuit, VHF/UHF carrier generation circuit, AM modulation and power control circuit and the system control circuit, and finally completed the research and development of ILS receiver precision tester. After testing, the test signal generated by the precision measuring instrument of ILS receiver meets the preset requirements.According to operators, the precision measurement instrument of airborne ILS equipment which we designed, can accurately simulates the ILS RF signal which an aircraft received in each spatial direction during its approach and landing. The signal is for testing and calibration of airborne ILS receiver. The equipment adopts the portable design concept, which is convenient for the use in flight line maintenance.The instrument is highly integrited and innovated. It is with complete independent intellectual property rights, and the cost is only a fifth of similar foreign equipment. It has great practical value for aircraft maintenance and teaching, and to some degree, is helpful for the design and research in domestic related areas.
