Water pollution and oil pollution are issues produced in the process of social development issues, the quality of water is directly related to people's daily lives, and the oil quality will affect the stability of hydraulic system.To develop the filter of high efficiency and energy saving is the inevitable requirement of social development.This article specifically designs a new kind self-cleaning filter for the ship ballast water treatment system, with many filter elements inside the filter working at the same time, big filtering area, and high filtration efficiency.It adopts the back flush self-cleaning mode, utilizes the ultrasonic cavitation effect during cleaning process to enhance the cleaning effect. The self-cleaning device uses the ship ballast water system's water supply pressure as its power source, achieving the rational utilization of energy, and the purpose of energy conservation, environmental protection without contamination.According to the working principle of the filter, this paper completed the structure designof the new self-cleaning filter, completed 3D modeling and assembly design of its parts in the soliderworks; The filteration mechanism is analysed and the total pressure drop of the filteration is obtained by theoretic calculation; Complete the filteration process simulation. The driving force of the cleaning device comes from the output torque of the pipeline hydraulic impeller and washing resistance of the filter comes from the resistance which is generated when flush arm rotates in water, so the key point of this research is whether the output power of the impeller can meet the operational requirements. This paper analyzes the force condition of the flush arm's movement in the water, and use the STAR CCM + software to compute the resistance when flush arm rotates in the water; Based on the lifting design method, the paper completes the design of the pipeline hydraulic impeller and the 3D modeling by Solidworks, with the help of 6-DOF motion model in STAR CCM+, analyses the dynamic performance of the impeller under the water pressure; According to the working principle of pipeline hydraulic impeller, the paper set up the test platform for impeller's hydraulic performance. Test results verify the validity of the simulation analysis.This paper proposes a new type self-cleaning filter whose self-cleaning device driven by hydraulic impeller, completes the filter structure design, theoretical analysis, simulation and test research.
