This paper not only introduced the basic principle of two-phase hybrid stepping motor and control method and theory but also studied the existing control technology. By using simplified diagram of the magnetic network mathematical model, two-phase hybrid stepping motor were deduced and researched. The basic principle of two-phase stepping motor, subdivision technology, subdivision control functions, subdivision nonlinear analysis technology and the relevant technical were in-depth researched and discussed in this paper.Stepping motor's performance is determined by the driver itself.According to the actual demand of enterprise, a drive control system based on STC89C52 and THB6064 H is proposed.The main circuit includes: a keyboard interface circuit, LCD display circuit, power-on reset and decay mode selection circuit, optical isolation circuit, the feedback circuit and the breakdown of selection circuit setting and semi-flow lockout circuit.This drive control system is designed to control and drive the two phase hybrid stepping motor.It can implement the control functions: start and stop, forward and reverse, speed governing and subdivision driving.The maximum driving current of 4.5A, by which the 57 series two-phase hybrid stepping motor can be driven.The keyboard, which consists of eight tickle buttons, is used to input the pre-set date and control instruction.Moreover, a 1602 LCD is adopted to display the actual time information of the running motor.The two-phase hybrid stepping motor drive control system has been tested.The main experiments included: ?drive circuit voltage test; ?system functional tests of control; ? subdivision control accuracy of the test; winding current output waveform test under ?different segments control. The results show that this design of the drive control circuit has good performance, able to work in a wide range of supply voltages; System control functions which contain start and stop, forward and reverse, speed presets, subdivision and other control functions is work properly under normal load conditions.In steel cord hanging weights test steel cord hanging weights test methods, measured at 0 segments, 16 segments and 64 segments, three segments state, the average displacement stepping motor rotation, variance, standard deviation and modulation index were 4.392 cm, 2.6178 cm2, 1.6179 cm, 0.3683; 3.1121 cm, 0.2121 cm2, 0.4605 cm,0.1480; 1.244 cm, 0.0119 cm2, 0.1091 cm, 0.0868. The stepping motor winding current output waveform meet the design expectations. The design of drive control system is simple, stable performance, the basic control functions and subdivision precision meet the actual demand of the product.
