The actuator failure of aero engine has a direct impact on the normal operation of the engine control system. In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the control system, this paper studies the fault diagnosis and fault-tolerance control technology of the main fuel actuator-loop, and carries out a semi-physical simulation test.Using a turbofan engine component-level model as the research object, a simple mathematical model of the actuator was established basing on the step response test, and then a fuel estimation model was established basing on the support vector regression. These two models were designed to detect and locate the different failure modes in the actuator-loop, and PID control was used here to isolate and reconstruct the fault signal. In order to complete the test task of the actuator-loop fault diagnosis quickly and efficiently, a rapid prototyping controller was developed with LabVIEW development environment and CompactRIO hardware platform. The rapid prototyping controller had a control ability for the fuel needle position and the engine speed, as well as the ability of data acquisition for the engine pressure and temperature. Finally, combining the rapid prototyping controller and the present hardware and software resources, a semi-physical simulation test was carried out on fault diagnosis and fault-tolerance control in the actuator-loop. The results showed that the fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control system could quickly and accurately diagnose the actuator fault and LVDT sensor fault in the actuator-loop and it had a good effect of fault tolerance. Besides, it proved that the semi physical simulation platform was valid. The research work in this paper lays a foundation for the fault diagnosis of the real engine actuator.
