The Research On Environment Art Design Of South-to-North Water Diversion’s Green Buffer

At present, there are very few researches about the environmental art in green buffer of South-to-North Water Diversion project,which leads to simplification and lack of aesthetic perception of the traditional headwaters shelterbelt. Under this condition, the South-to-North Water Diversion project was proposed based on water safety protection and related discipline theories of environmental arts. It uses the practical project of design of the demonstration area in Zhongyuan District as guidance and follows the criterions of the shelterbelt of the South to North Water Diversion Project. This project mainly focuses on the method to protect the quality of headwaters and improve the landscape artistry from an environmental arts design standpoint at the same time. The purpose of the project is to deliver a multi-functional artistic standard green buffer design which meets the needs of headwaters quality protection, residents recreation requirements and landscape art demonstration. With this design concept, the goal of the project also includes to achieve an ecological protection and a sustainable city development during South-to-North water diversion.In the thesis an overview of the environmental arts design of South-to-North Water Diversion is presented. Chapter 1 introduces the research backgrounds, purpose and current research status. In chapter 2, the environmental arts design of the South to North Water Diversion Project is defined. The interpretation of protection policies, its main functions and related theoretical basis are explained. Chapter Three makes a comparative research of the three typical different sections of green buffers of the South to North Water Diversion Project. Based on the practical project of the demonstration area of South-to-North water diversion project, Chapter 5 combines the topics including the plant cultivation mode, the scale design of the road system, the site rain collection system, the artistic application of the micro topography, the ecological protection of animals and the environmental art sketch and the practice and application in specific design.The thesis has improved the artistic integration and aesthetic appreciation in the protection strategy of headwater of green buffer for South to North Water Diversion Project, trying to perfect and replenish the vacancy in the environmental arts design of the South to North Water Diversion Project and provide an example for the environmental arts design of the green buffer for South to North Water Diversion Project in the future.
