The change orders that makes construction project unstable always lead to the rise in construction costs, delays in the construction period, quality defects, reduction of the efficiency. At present, the research of engineering changes mainly concentrates on the process flow system. A lack of reasons and principle analysis makes the explication stay in the surface events. We need a unified framework to explain why change propagates from one component to another component in both macro and micro visual angle. A Lack of principle analysis resulted in a change propagation occurs and no one recognized the tremendous impact on the key component object and treated all objects in the same way. Such control method is not targeted and effective.The research of change propagation is limited in the manufacturing industry, while the current research of construction changes propagation is still blank. However, Change propagation is not unique to the manufacturing industry. Construction products in the design, construction process will propagates engineering changes in the same way. Change propagation will enhance mutual change the source and expand the scope of influence, brings the enormous threat to the change control management. In view of this situation, the existing achievement in manufacturing industry is researched and quoted in this paper. Moreover, characteristics of architecture engineering is adjusted to existing research.The contribution of this paper mainly lies in the following aspects: 1.The conditions for the change of the construction project and the change of the transmission are analyzed from the micro(i.e. component level) analysis, and the scope and feature of change propagation is inferred; 2. A complete framework model of construction project change propagation is proposed combined with the characteristics of construction industrial. The model is a perfect expression to the engineering change in drawings. It explains why changes happen and propagates(skeleton relations, the design constraints, spatial collision). The propagation path and network is then analyzed based on it.
