Inspection and Monitor system for airfield lighting plays an important role in guaranteeing the operation of airport lights and the automation of airport lights inspection was realized.Meanwhile,the maintenance efficiency was also boosted greatly.At present,many kinds of inspection system has been used,which come from different companies.But there are some questions,such as the signal was mistaken in the process of transmission, the fault detection is single and so on. So,it is necessary to develop a new generation of monitor system and make it to satisfy the real-time requirement of airport.Firstly,the principle of the automatic monitor system was analyzed.In the light of the system's trait and the use of special communication mode(TWACS), the signal transmission channel characteristics were studied especially in this paper.The viewpoint that the insulating transformer is a pivotal step in the channel was pointed out,and then,a simulation model of single phase transformer was constructed.It was verified that the channel has band-pass characteristic by taking data from practical testing features of transformer into the model.Based of this conclution,a simulation model of lights circuit was builded to check the effect of communication.Through selecting the best parameters, the signal modulation power was optimized.Besides,other practical factors existing in the field were taken into account in the model and several interfering factors had been got by comparing with the effect caused by them.Secondly,on the basis of inspection and monitor system principle,the software and hardware of the signal demodulation circuit were introduced.The signal demodulation was guaranteed by optimizing circuit and program design and introducing responsiple counter-interference technology.The accurate demodulation of the signal made it come true to improve the veracity of the system.Lastly, a new method was applied:Intergrating PCNN and mathematical morphology together to inspect the failed lights.It made the operation state of many lights into an image and sends it to the host-computer wirelessly to recognize the dim ones and the failed ones.This method would decrease the cost of airport construction greatly.Meanwhile, the effect was distinct and the equipments related were maintained easily. It is very fit to the inspection of approach lights.
