Because of the rapid development of aviation industry in recent years, it is important to ensure rational planning of airspace and safety and reliability of the flight. This paper focuses on integrity and accuracy monitoring of GPS/INS integrated navigation system, and lateral flight trajectory optimization. Navigation system performance, which comprises accuracy and integrity, ensures safety, reliability and economy of flight in the airspace. For the lateral trajectory, based on integrity monitoring, we use global search ability of genetic algorithms to implement the free choice of waypoints and to complete the trajectory optimization. It also includes the method of Great circle route and leg convergence algorithm.First of all, the paper researches the algorithm of integrity and accuracy monitoring, including related concepts of system performance, the theory of Kalman filter, related errors of navigation system, and integrity monitoring of integrated navigation system. For GPS system, it uses Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring(RAIM); for INS system and integrated navigation system, it focuses on accuracy monitoring of loose combination of Kalman Filter.Secondly, it researches algorithm of lateral trajectory optimization, focusing on the effective integration of Genetic algorithms and trajectory optimization to select operator for route calculation. Finally, it uses Matlab 7.0 for simulation, and the simulation results show that the algorithm of performance monitoring of GPS/INS integrated navigation system is valid, and the position accuracy of it is better than single system. Moreover, the speed of genetic algorithm for trajectory optimization is more accurate with increased genetic algebra.
