Turn light is a special application in vehicle lighting. The load is usually P21W+P21W+R5W?Firstly, we will introduce the requirement on the turn light from the regulation, including the requirement on the turn light itself and the test requirement on the ECU in the vehicle. We will compare the different control solutions.Secondly, we will build the simulation and calculation model for the turn light. Simulation model will be used to determine if the driver is capable for the turn light and determine the turn on time. Calculation model will play an important role in the worst case calculation of bulb outage detection.Based on this, we will fucous on the smart drivers for the control of the turn light. Taking the VND5E025 AK from ST as an example, we will build the PSpice model and determine if VND5E025 AK is capable for turn light and if the turn on time can meet the requirement through simulation. We will do the worst case calculation to determine if the bulb outage detection is possible with VND5E025 AK.At last, we will discuss the protection for smart drivers. Including the software strategy of the over load protection and the protection against the test requirements for the ECU.
