Basalt Fiber-Reinforced Polymer(BFRP) is a new kind of composite material. It's become more popular because of several advantages, such as high tensile strength, corrosion resistance, high temperature, good ductility and low price. BFRP will be widely used in the field of civil engineering in the future because of its outstanding material properties. So, this paper is engaged to investigate the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete T-beams strengthened with externally bonded BFRP sheets by experiments and finite element method. On basis of the experimental research, numerical simulation of the strengthened T-beams is carried out with the help of ABAQUS. Combined with the damage and fracture theory, finite element model is set up. The calculated results agree well with the experimental, the influences of flange height, reinforcement ratio, modulus of elasticity, layers, U-stirrup arrangement and secondary stress on bending performance of strengthened T-beams are analyzed. The results indicate that the adhesive layer is not damaged, it can effectively transfer stress between the concrete beam and BFRP; Increasing the flange height can improve the effectiveness of strengthening; BFRP suitable for the lower reinforcement ratio beam. BFRP have a higher elastic modulus can improve the bearing capacity of the beam, but will reduce the ductility. Have more U-stirrup can improve the shear strength of the beam and improve the reinforcement effect. With the increase of initial negative load, the improvement of strengthen effect of concrete structures considering load history decreases dramatically.Combined with finite element numerical analysis results are compared with the existing test results and analysis of BFRP strengthening reinforced concrete T beam reinforcement effect on main influence factors, proposed the more reasonable economic basalt fiber reinforced way, summed up the reinforcement scheme and design method is proposed, to provide certain reference for practical engineering application. The innovations of this paper are as follows: to test based using the method of numerical analysis, analysis of the reinforcement failure mode of beam under various influencing factors; selection interface element to simulate the adhesive layer between basalt fiber reinforced and reinforced concrete; numerical simulation under secondary load, woven of basalt fiber reinforcement effect.
