In the automotive powertrain system, due to the engine have high speed, low torque, small range of speed and torque characteristics, the automotive need automatic transmission speed up and slow down, according to the changes in the external environment automatic switches to the matched shift, which are widely used. In order to improve the performance of automatic transmission, which has multiple shift development trend, planetary transmission as automatic transmission key parts is becoming more and more complex, thus identifying a reliable, practical and systematic approach to planetary transmission configuration, design, and analysis have great practical value.The main contents of the paper are as follows:(1) Introduces the structure and working principle of automatic transmission, Through sorting different combinations of planetary gear, gain the rules of construct planetary gear in automatic transmission(2) Coding the planetary transmission of automatic transmission, established planetary transmission mathematics model, propose a method through design structure matrix and control matrix completed planetary transmission design. Based on the equation of single stage planetary gear, propose a method to optimization automatic transmission shift plan. Developing the software based on MATLAB.(3) Completed six-speed automatic transmission ratio design, using the structure matrix design module, and shift plan optimization module completed six-speed automatic transmission conceptual design. Completed planet transmission gear parameter and bearing parameter design, established planet transmission three dimensional model in MASTA software in the.(4) Analysis six-speed automatic transmission strength, get gear static safety, validation the rationality of planet gear strength design. Analysis six-speed automatic transmission meshing characteristics, get the gear meshing prints, validation the rationality of planet gear geometry modification. Analysis six-speed automatic transmission efficiency, fatigue life.
