Existing simulations on wind turbine systems focus mainly on their operation modes and relationships between related devices. However, scheduling matching is an important problem in wind energy management systems which has not been solved yet.In this thesis, we analyze operating modes and states of devices in the Envision wind firm. Execution modes are simulated for typical devices such as wind turbines, Static Var Generator and Reactive power capacitance. Communication rules between energy management systems and wind farm devices are analyzed and applied to simulate real-time wind farms which make the simulation program reacts like a real facility. To improve the reality of the simulation, a new method is presented to simulate wind turbine systems which illustrates wind turbine working states in terms of historical data recorded by real wind farms. After fitting curves three times, wind speed-power curves with regional characteristics are obtained which accu-rately show relationships between wind speeds and active power of wind turbines. They make the simulation more realistic as well. A graphic user interface is developed for the simulation program though which users can read operation parameters easily and control the simulation manually.By verifying functions in the Envision Energy Management System, the wind farm simulation shows similar performance of real wind farms in many aspects such as display, response and control. It helps the Envision industry verify functions of the Energy Management System.
