With the development of the anode materials of the lithium battery,the demand of saggars for the new materials has become bigger than before.Now,the short life of domestic saggars and higher costs for the overseas made saggars become an important problem for manufacturer.So it will have great significance for us to exploit a new materials of saggars to satisfy the demand of new materials.We know MgO is an alkaline oxide.It will have great function for the erosion of the cathode of lithium battery.The cordierite have many advantages such as lower coefficient of thermal expansion and good thermal shock resistance,but the low toughness,and narrow synthesis temperature range limited the use of cordierite.Mullite have lower coefficient of thermal expansion,good mechanical properties.All of these good properties made the magnesium oxide-cordierite-mullite composites was increasingly valued.This paper first analyzes the lithium ion battery cathode material in solid phase synthesis engineering erosion of sagger materials etc,and puts forward the protective measures,finally puts forward a by improving the sagger materials to improve measures of sagger life.This study took mullite as the mainly aggregate,the Al2O3,Suzhou kaolin and talcum as the matrices.We studied the influence of the kind of magnesium oxide,synthetic temperature and the addition of magnesium oxide for the sintering characters,mechanical properties,thermal shock resistance and the phase composition of the magnesium oxide-cordierite-mullite composites by XRD and EPMA.At last,the study showed that the Al2O3,Suzhou kaolin and talcum could synthetic the cordierite after sintering at 1350?.The addition of magnesium oxide has some influence for the synthesis of cordierite.When the addition of magnesium oxide was 5%,the saggars had good sintering performance,mechanical properties,thermal shock resistance.It is shown by application that Li2O was the mainly cause for the erosion of the cathode of lithium battery,the mainly basis of erosion pavement was LiAlO2.
