Rail Vehicle Design Based On Jinan Regional Culture Study

Design is derived from life but transcend life.Basing on different backgrounds,design has different value judgement and aesthetic consideration,it also reflects people’s cultural attitudes from different angles of their time.Measuring one design work good or bad largely depends on how well it related to it’s cultural ecology.The word of "ecology" is orignate from ancient Greek,which means house or our environment.Cultural ecology is our cultural environment.Matter,Regulation,Phylosophy from different levels constitute cultural ecology.So,design itself is a kind of cultural activity,design ideas can be found in culture from various degrees.It should derive from cultural ecology and both of them can merge into one organic whole.It is significant to combine the regional culture with rail transit design,as product of industrialization and urbanization,rail transit bring enormous convenient for people’s life.However,it may has some disadvantage such as close experience,that may let people begin anxiety about security and existence.Modern design should not seperate the relationship with culture,in this way can we achieve the integration and symbiosis of traditional elements and modern elements in today’s design context.Modern industrial design which based on orignal culture has became an important breakthrough for sustaining innovations.The theme of this paper is designing an rail vehicle which can reflect the unique regional characteristic of JINAN city.The important point is not at how to make the rail vehicles’ styling new and special,but putting an emphasis on finding JINAN city’s local culture from the perspective of human geography.It will induce the foreign rail vehicles design which can represent their own regional culture feature.besides,this paper especially focus on digging history context,regarding the historical context of "spring culture" as the main line to induce and extract the instinctive "spring culture",analysising the traditional cultural elements,chinese-western cultural elements,structure element of modern industry and spring-bridge culture,then melting these elements into JINAN rail transit design.This article is consist of introduction,theoretical analysis,modeling analysis four parts.The first chapter is introduction that will solve several basic problems,including research overview,research problem,key concept.The next two chapter introduce the developing mode of JINAN transportation,urban multi-core regional structure model and the importance of rail transit for JINAN city development.The sixth chapter will introduce some design case of excellent regional rail transit.The seventh is about designing a distinctive rail vehicle that can represent JINAN cultural characteristic.The last chapter describes the importance of regional rail transportation and the meaningfulness of this design research.
