At present,the environmental pollution and the large-scale energy demand has become the two world problems urgent to solve.Electric power industry as one of the huge demand for energy industry,must get the support of energy to achieve rapid progress,The environmental problem,which is caused by resources of generate electricity such as coal,is increasingly serious.However,demand side management of the smart grid on the one hand can increase the practical value of energy,on the other hand can realize safe power supply,avoid influence by environment and in improving the energy and power environment and the relationship between effect is very significant.This paper focuses on demand side management in the smart grid and algorithm design.Firstly,this paper introduces the background and significance of the subject.The smart grid has the characteristics of economical efficient,environmentally friendly,safe reliable,so that it make a difference in improving power quality,providing high-quality service and promoting sustainable development.Utilizing advanced information communication,sensing measurement,automatic control and new materials,the smart grid transforms the traditional grid into a new generation of power grid that combines highly informatization,intellectualization and interaction.Then,the paper introduces the main content of demand side management in electric power.The paper introduces the demand side management on the characteristics,work flow,and implementation method of the smart grid.There is a complementary relationship between the smart grid and demand side management.Demand side management embodies the interaction of the smart grid.At the same time,the smart grid provides the technical support for demand side management.In addition,this paper also introduces a generalized day-ahead demand side management strategy and smart grid structure model.This paper introduces the genetic algorithm,further introduces the principle of GA and the algorithm flow.On this basis,it proposed the algorithm design of demand side management in the smart grid.In algorithm design,the controller of demand side management is the research object.The algorithm optimizes the time step of the smart grid user side connecting to the smart grid.In the end,this paper sets up the regional power consumption model in Matlab/Simulink.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm optimize the time step of the smart grid user side connecting to the smart grid.It also reduces the peak load demand,refactors load characteristic,increases power supply sustainability,reduces the overall operating costs,reduces carbon emissions.
