In the rapid development of modern industrial society, energy shortage and environmental pollution problems are becoming more and more important. So, mankind will look to a new kind of new green renewable resource—electric energy. Which can replace oil and other pollution resources. Electric energy, as the power of the new energy electric industry has taken more and more attention from everyone. Because of its advantage, like small size?large capacity?long life?no pollution? no discharge memory, etc. Lithium ion battery has become the main power sources for mobile phones, laptops, electric bicycles, electric cars and hybrid electric vehicles. Lithium battery electric bicycle with its light, environmental protection, battery life and other advantages is the trend of the replacement of lead-acid batteries, and become the future development direction of electric bicycles. But, safety problems and the life of battery pack due to safety of series lithium ion battery pack and inconsistency of series lithium ion battery pack, which also limit the wide use of lithium-ion batteries. So when using series lithium ion battery pack, It is very necessary to do a series of lithium ion battery pack "battery manager", battery management system.Battery management system is an important part of the transportation which power come from lithium ion battery. The main function of the battery management system is including two parts. On the one hand, the system can collect the information of the battery, and be provided to the lithium battery users, so that users can understand the working state of the battery in time. On the other hand, the battery management system will be based on the collected battery information to do security management, including charge and discharge management and balanced management. The battery management system can make lithium ion battery to play its performance, while ensuring the safety of lithium ion batteries in the charge and discharge station. At present, because of its high cost, the research of battery management system mainly focuses on the lithium battery in the new energy electric vehicles, electric buses, hybrid electric vehicles and other large vehicles. The research on the management system of the electric bicycle battery for lithium ion battery is not much.This paper is the design of lithium battery electric bicycle battery management system and its data manage unit. This paper mainly does the following work:1. Complete the design and test of battery management system based on the controller and peripheral circuit. Using PIC microcontroller and peripheral data acquisition circuit, charge discharge protection circuit, equalization circuit to realize the function of data acquisition and management. Complete the schematic circuit diagram and PCB layout. Test the design circuit board using the related equipment and instruments.2. Complete the design and test of battery management system data management unit. Using MCU receive 4 groups of isolated battery management system data, through the isolation of RS485 to send the data to a higher level host computer. The system also set 4 single-chip input and output using optocoupler isolation, as to control and receive signals from outside. Complete the schematic circuit diagram and PCB layout. Test the design circuit board using the related equipment and instruments.
