Progressive collapse is not a newly-developed issue on the grounds of its history.Additionally, owing to the increasingly complicated racial tensions and international relationship as well as terrorist attacks, the probability of building structure being severely damaged finally collapse accordingly increased.Progressive collapse starts from local damage, which constantly convey to connected regions and finally collapse in an area without proportion to the initial damage.Although the subject has attracted broad attention worldwide, research in China has relatively fallen behind. As a result, research in this issue still remains broad development, which calls for constant effort from scholars. This paper presents a description of a RC member calculation model in a bilinear skeleton curve with strength degradation period, which considered pinch effect and the effect of loading history. After that, compare results gained with the developed modal and the one with existing ones. Then the connected hysteretic rule was perfected and a rational failure criterion was chosen for the following analysis.Based on the secondary development platform, the established RC member calculation model and failure criterion are inserted into the software. To begin with, compare the experiental results and results from numerical simulation of RC member dynamic experiment. The two results showed good agreement. In the second place, dynamic time-history analysis for RC space frame was made. In the second place, conclusions summerized are:1.Peripheral beams in the frame play an important in the resistance to progressive collapse for RC frame.2.It will not be long before the whole structure destroy if the bottomn column unit is broken. Finally, this paper paied attention to the effect on the resistance of progressive collapse of different governing factors, the results show:1.Reasonable shear span ratio of structure is benefit for the adoption of "strong column and weak beam’" machanical mechanism.2.The strength degradation has a significant effect on the structure behavior in the process of collapse.3.The load distribution and collapse process vary a lot if the earthquake wave is changed.
