With the rapid development, in Chinese, the high-type highway took an extremely important carrying capacity in the development of China. Based on the national highway planning, in 2030, the carrying requirement of highway traffic would be two times now. When asphalt pavement worked a period of time, because of the natural environment and frequent carrying capacity, it would show it's diseases, such as pothole, crack, chap, upheaval and crack block, which leads to the need of reasonable repair and maintenance, so that guarantees carrying requirement of the highway traffic. The paper researched the mechanism about microwave thermal regeneration technology of the asphalt pavement, and designs reasonable microwave heating device, so that the asphalt pavement gets the need of repair and maintenance, and prolongs its working life.This paper, in the first, studied regeneration technology of asphalt, researched microwave thermal regeneration technology, and analysed the characteristic of the microwave heating and efficiency, in order to provide theory to promote heating unifor m temperature and efficiency of heating area. This text, based on existing theory of microwave heating, designs and studies horn antenna, and defines rational parameters, according to microwave heating theory, to get the basic analysis for heating device. The task researched the theory of heating device, systematic composition and optimized parameters, and conducts experiments. It obtains the characteristic of heating area about horn antenna and heating device.In order to promote heating uniform temperature, the paper proposed the radial spiral antenna, minutely recommend conceive of the radial spiral antenna, optimized design and parameters, knows the characteristic of radial spiral antenna, and obtains better heating uniform temperature and efficiency, compared with the horn antenna in heating area.Hoping to optimize the uniformity of the heating area and the transformation efficiency, we proposed a novel EBG structure and incorporated with the horn antenna to form a new radiator. This paper introduced the design process of the EBG structure in detail and gave the structure of it. Moreover, we studied the working characteristic of the novel radiator. Compared to the former radiators, we achieved better heating uniformity and higher energy transformation efficiency.The paper optimized the design of horn antenna, proposed the radial spiral antenna, and used EBG structure, which enhanced the heating uniform temperature and efficiency of heating area of the microwave heating asphalt pavement. In order to reduce the heating time and scale up to an industrial level, this paper need to do the following work, with many kind of technologies.
