Because of the uneven distribution of water resources in our country, the problem of the imbalance between supply and demand of water resources become more and more serious. on the one hand, the residents’s life have been impact a lot; On the other hand, for the economic development of our country has a certain constraints. Many scholars have a study on the present situation of the uneven distribution of water resources, more and more research show that the inter-basin water transfer is one of the effective methods to solve the problem of uneven distribution of water resources. In the process of water diversion, the water conveyance tunnel has been one major method. In the 21st century ago, the study of the water conveyance tunnel mainly use of the method of physical model test, now, with the development of computer science and technology and the constant improvement of computational fluid dynamics theory, the application of numerical simulation method to study the hydraulic characteristics of the water conveyance tunnel has become an important method.This article first elaborates the research significance of the water conveyance tunnel, secondly introduces the research status and research methods and theories, again through the physical model test for simulating the water conveyance tunnel research, determine its carrying capacity, the pressure and velocity profile and hydraulic characteristics, and then through the method of numerical simulation to the bureau of gate opening when the hydraulic characteristics of the water conveyance tunnel are studied, and compared with the physical model test results, analysis of both advantages and disadvantages, finally summarize the research of this paper.The specific research work can be summed up in the following:1. To summarize the research status of the water conveyance tunnel, analyze its have mature and still need to research part.2. Water conservancy projects on a specific article, and application of physical model experiment method to study. Covering design and production of the model and method, installation and testing in the process of test will analyze gate under different opening of the water conveyance tunnel of flow capacity, energy dissipation effect, the pressure distribution, the surface along the line, etc.3. Turbulence model and numerical method are introduced. Have a Study on Hydraulic Characteristics when the opening of the gate is different. Using k-ε turbulent flow double-equation model and using CAD software to establish three-dimensional model, using ICEM software making the grid mesh, using post-processing software dispose the results of numerical simulation.And the last work is analysis the results.4. Comparing with the results of physical model test and numerical simulation analysis, the results show that the two methods to get the water line, pressure and velocity of hydraulic parameters have little difference.Model test study show that the flood discharge capacity of the water conveyance tunnel and other hydraulic characteristics is good,have solve the problem of water and energy dissipation in the project, and verified by numerical simulation.This article research results will provide a reference basis for the application of the water conveyance tunnel in the future, has the very good academic significance and engineering application value.
